Hi, previous user of zm, thinking of coming back to the fold. Wanted to attempt to develop a 'timelapse' ability for zm. Not a c++ developer normally, though I have been researching some of the code, and I am keen to learn.
I have cloned, created my feature branch and stumbled into my first problem....how to compile :P

is the correct ZMS path: /cgi-bin/nph-zms ?
or, better question, where is it supposed to be?
found it at /usr/lib/zoneminder/cgi-bin/nph-zms
tony1
the_k_: I believe it should be /zm/cgi-bin/nph-zms
the_k_
i don't have /zm
ah, is this a file path or web-hosted path?
tony1
host path

woo! working
the only problem now is that ubuntu isn't giving me a terminal on the server where i wanted to display the video feeds
i have to ssh to it to do anything
oh, i'm also still getting the same error.. getStreamCmdResponse stream error: Socket /var/run/zm/zms-366925s.sock does not exist. This file is created by zms, and since it does not exist, either zms did not run, or zms exited early. Please check your zms logs and ensure that CGI is enabled in apache and check that the PATH_ZMS is set correctly

its probably an issue with the camera source. look at the setup guides again.

In 1.30.4 I just found that nobody can edit/delete/new the monitors in a group as those options are always greyed. Any ideas?
tony1
the_k: if you can see the video fine in ZM then it is working. if you are still getting the error try restarting ZM
nullaffinity_ is now known as nullaffinity
barjac_: look in the options under user, maybe something is wrong there?
barjac_
tony1: I just did but I see nothing there relating to groups
tony1
barjac_: when adding a new user you can assign them to a group. you can select a group as either view or edit. maybe you have your user as view only?
barjac_
tony1 g2g but thanks I will keep digging.
tony1
barjac_: seems to work ok for me, maybe restart ZM for user's to kick in?
