Found it. It's "Monitors". Has to be set to Edit.

This is a problem I'll suggest on the forum to change. The idea being that one might want to setup a basic user who's roll is to observer and report. You don't want them to have the ability to edit "screw up" the monitor configuration, but you would like them to be able to force a record of an event they are watching in real time.

so, i'm redoing the floors in my 'library' and forgot to take before pictures...luckily, zm grabbed pictures of my fat ass tearing up the flooring

i'm thinking there should be enough frames grabbed that will be without me to do a nice timelapse...

now all i have to do is finish floor prep, put down the moisture barrier, put in the laminate, and reinstall trim and such...yay fun!

I've increased my sensitivity to the point that it's catching bugs flying in the air... however it seems that frequently zoneminder isn't catching motion while other times it does, so sometimes I"ll see one of my birds jump into the box then out and others on the next motion capture there's magically 3 eggs when there was only 1 2 hours ago and the mtion that triggered it is another bird going into a

different box

man: you need to play with your triggers alert thresholds/alarm areas, blob size, etc until you get what you want

been putting off doing the floors in that room because of the number of books we'd have to move

xnxs I've played with those until the point that it triggers an alarm for a spec of dust yet I still get what appears to be a jump ahead where say 5 minutes or 20 minutes is just not there in which there had to be motion because a 5 pound bird doesn't just sneak into the frame

i'd look into the analysis frames, see what the alarm size/blob size is for a triggered frame, and work off of that...it can sometimes be a pita to get the settings just right

I don't mind excess false alarms, I'm just watching my chickens at this point anyways, I'm more curious why there's random gaps for example there will be one bird that goes into a box on the top right and another that's considering top left, then it'll load the next for review in gapless play and there'll be 4 eggs in the bottom right and a bird getting into the bottom center box... as if there's 2

movements for the first two birds and 2 more birds that were never shown getting up or out of the box

though dropping the min px and such last night yielded 124 captures for the day vs 70 the day before

most of them involving bird traffic

i've been meaning to set up zones to trigger other zones, but haven't gotten to it

most I did with the zones was narrow the area it was watching as I don't care if a bird is coming in or out of the coop as much as I do to see which bird was in which box as I've got a dozen new birds that should be laying 3 weeks ago and for some time I had eggs vanishing mid day

ironically the camera was setup and they stopped vanishing which makes me think the neighbor might be sneeaking over

heh in this review I had one bird that was black mottled with white spots suddenly turn into a brown bird with red highlights... then that bird vanishes and there's 4 eggs.. 3 events later

I suppose the fact that they can move a decent distance in less than a full frame makes sense for it to miss em

sounds like maybe a higher framerate may help?

bet these settings would work good though if I was watching say my shop or walkway

it's 8 events over a 3 hour window

and I thought I had set it to pixels it's still set to percent, so 5% trigger... I thought I was setting it to 5pixels for giggles

man networkmanager is such a pig... this little chip keept OOMing on me before and I initially though it was running out of battery or hitting a brownout... stripped out networkmanager and replaced with systemd-networkd and wpa_supplicant directly and it free'd up 250M of ram... sad for a command line version of something so simple
