I'm having an issue. I'm trying to use libvlc but my log simply becomes filled with: http://i.imgur.com/1EPiYul.png

am i missing something?

(I have libvlc-dev installed)

I can play the streams in vlc.

I got it to work, for future reference: sudo apt-get install libvlc-dev libvlccore-dev vlc and sudo usermod -a -G video www-data then restart zoneminder and BANG working

looks like I was missing "libvlccore8"

specifically 8.

had libvlccore

not 8.

I am trying to setup email notification for my camera. I followed this https://wiki.zoneminder.com/How_to_get_ssmtp_wo... I can send emails from the commandline. PROBLEM: When I get here: "Testing if it works" I am stuck here: "Bring up the filter window, and check on "Email all matches" and use the right matching parameters for your new event ".

I think i've got an issue with mapped memory:

ls -l /run/shm/zm* | awk 'BEGIN {sum=0} {sum += $5} END {print sum/1024/1024."M"}'

65.9213M

its ONLY ever 65.9213M

and then zm crashes

However, there is clearly space: tmpfs 3.9G 67M 3.8G 2% /dev/shm

which is pretty annoying. Why would it only use 65.9M of the 4GB there?/

I did the math thing and it should use something around 79MB minimum
