        I have a mix of indoor/outdoor/factory/office/home/banks/etc/
      • Haxxa you setup your filters to delete events with no alarm frames.
      • Bhaal
ic0n: So, bugs and rain in the IR? how you dealing with this?
      • ic0n
        I adjust my zones appropriately
      • Bhaal
You need to make a zone save file
      • sorry
      • zone export/import
      • ic0n
        why?
      • I've never wanted to do that
      • Bhaal
By 'you' I mean 'someone' ... Why? Coz "These settings are great for cameras completely outdoors which trigger lots of motion during night time rain events"
      • kinda thing
      • ic0n
yeah... every camera is different. We need an auto-tune function.
      • Bhaal
ic0n: Coz like me, all the settings in the zones gives me a headache :)
      • ic0n
        me too.
      • Bhaal
I still haven't figured them out, but at any rate, I don't have the cpu grunt
      • ic0n
Hey guys we need more youtube videos featuring zm
      • Bhaal
Ok, copied out the events I need
      • RealBrianWarner_
I'd be very interested in these "great settings for outdoor cameras that would otherwise fill up your hard drive overnight", too.
      • Bhaal
        now compiling
      • RealBrianWarner_: haha
      • RealBrianWarner_
        :-)
      • Bhaal
ic0n: Yay! can watch events again!
      • ic0n
hey Bhaal merged your PR. works. Still one thing to fix. When I save a filter, the filter page reloads and has the saved filter selected but not all the files are properly filled out.
      • Haxxa
ic0n setting up now (filter) I still want to delete old events though how do I go about that - do I leave purge when full and instead delete alarmed at say 50% full?
      • ic0n
        yes.
      • Haxxa
ic0n, is no alarm frames called frames?
      • Bhaal
        ic0n: Ahhh bugger
      • ic0n
        Bhaal: what?
      • Haxxa
I'm not getting the syntax here there is only sort by alarmed frames
      • Bhaal
ic0n: responding to you saying my fix didn't fix...
      • But I am sure it did for me :/
      • ic0n
oh it did fix, just that there is still aproblem.
      • Bhaal
ic0n: What do you mean by "files" you mean all the bits?
      • All the ands
      • vmtest joined the channel
      • ic0n
the lines in the filter. they aren't populated with the new values.
      • vmtest
        g'day all
      • Haxxa
ic0n, Do you achieve the alarm frames - or is there an option for non alarm frames
      • is frames = to not alarm frames
      • Bhaal
ic0n: Hrm ... They were for me when I did the fix initially
      • ic0n: looking now
      • Haxxa
        I'm not sure
      • ic0n, what is I achieve them first
      • this is frustrating :/
      • Bhaal
ic0n: No, this is different to my fix...
      • Haxxa
here is my plan I am going to archieve the alarm frames
      • ic0n
Haxxa I use Alarm Frames less than 5.
      • Haxxa
then I will set delete for non alarm frames at 55% full
      • then at 95% full delete all
      • ic0n, is that how you did it
      • ic0n
I suggest also setting a minimum age.
      • I just said that's how I do it.
      • Haxxa
ic0n, no you didn't mention anything about ahcieving only non alarm frames which isn't an option so I am trying to figure that out
      • so used achieve for this
      • thus three filters
      • ic0n
The filters work on EVENTS not frames. An event has a certain # of alarm frames. More motion means more alarm frames.
      • So you filter by alarm frame count, or score which is a measure of the size of the motion.
      • Haxxa
ic0n, yes but for these you do you ensure they last longer than normal frames
      • ensuring events are saved while events are deleted
      • *non-events are deleted
      • I just want the setup you state dearlier
      • such that events are saved longer that normal footage
      • thats all
      • did you use the achieve feature to do this
      • or did you do something else to the events
      • Bhaal
ic0n: Adding what date/time an for which an event is being deleted by zmfilter... awesome!
      • It's the little things :)
      • Haxxa
I'll start from scratch from tomorrow, I have a few hours tomorrow to dedicate and given the high level of complexity I will need to spent more time understanding how these filters are integrated and what could delete events with no alarm frames. I think I will need to muse the achieve function though
      • Hmm.. I wonder if its failing due to the lack of memory: http://imgur.com/a/OmUwD
      • Got signal 15 (Terminated), exiting
      • hmm... record is work
      • *record is working...
      • but not mocord
      • whcih leads back to original hypthesis that there is an issue with the filter I have setup
      • can anyone help me
      • ic0n
filters do not affect recording in any way.
      • check your mem usage. check amount of space in /dev/shm.
      • turn on debug. Stop asking us to guess for you.
      • gnulnx
        morning
      • Haxxa
ic0n, I wasn't I was looking for help which then I could provide: ic0n /dev/shm has ample space - 2gb ram vm is at 90% usage
      • ok rebooted vm memory is at confortable levels now
      • it seems to really eat the memory

      • thanks
      • Haxxa
boo I'm getting - Buffer overrun at index
      • hmmm.... Front-Door: 8000 - Capturing at 1000.00 fps
      • seems a bit hight
      • *high
      • RealBrianWarner_
Haxxa: I think that's evidence of an error condition, right? I saw that when I misconfigured my stream URL.
      • joao
        lol
      • that's absolutely high
      • Haxxa
RealBrianWarner_ maybe it might just be my camera dropping out I also get Unable to send raw frame 27: Broken pipe
      • RealBrianWarner_
Haxxa: I'm a novice, but that sounds consistent
      • joao
        is that a ipcam ?
      • Haxxa
        joao yes
      • joao
how mutch fps you have on camera side, on the stream that you are using
      • Haxxa
but then again modetct wasn't woorking at all
      • joao 10fps
      • joao
        weird
      • witch method are you using at ZM?
      • Haxxa
joao currently record as its the only thing taht works correctly
      • *that
      • joao
        I see
      • but I'm asking what value you have at "Source Type"

      • quick question I'm moving to 1.30 instead of upgrading since that fails, I'd like 1.29 filters to keep running to encode and purge what's left so I'll be disabling all monitors but I wanted to know if filters are only running when zm is running or if I can just leave everything as is and just stop zm from the webui?
      • I'm running dockers so 1.29 would be running alongside 1.30
