So, there was an attempted break-in next door over the weekend. My wife went from, "Why are you fooling around with that camera on the driveway?" to "Do what you were doing and do lots more of it." So... somewhat related to last week's question about durable outdoor cams, what specs should I look for if I want to optimize video quality and storage space? Is there a gold standard config for optimal recording?

Not really related, but I noticed a spider had woven quite a web in my work shed. I named him Bob the spider. In order to help his cause, I've been dropping a couple of squash bugs (little bastards) into his web each day. I should put a camera on it and record the activity. Since I'm a geek, I've already wired ethernet to the shed, so it would be fairly easy to do. :-)

I've found a few Black Widows on my property over the last 10+ yrs, luckily not many, and I leave them alone, they leave me alone... although the 1 in the shed was a little troubling.

depends on how many frames you buffer. I've been meaning to add a calc to the monitor popup

1280*720*3*numberOfFrames

you should be using 32 bit calcs, so 1280x720x4xnumber of frames

I did fix them, but then it told me I couldn't use isset() I tried to do what it asked, but was actually rushing out the door...

also, on my systems, I delete events without motion before I delete events with motion. So I get more store of motion.
