hi all. I've been using zoneminder for awhile now, but have stability issues from time to time. Anyone experimented with motion? how does it compare to zm?

d1rewolf, not sure that this is the right channel
most if not all here are zm devotees

jzaw: well, to be fair, I am as well ;-) just curious what one brings to the table versus the other

no harm in looking at the *competition*

yep. on a separate note...anyone know if someone has successfully hacked a netgear arlo to be capable of being used with ZM? or if there are any other similar battery powered cams on the market which could do something similar?
So on my system, when I call ". /etc/zm/zm.conf" as root, I can then call up any of the variables straight from the command line e.g. echo $ZM_WEB_USER (returns "apache" in my case)

yep I think it will work for that db check also take that and use mysql to try db connection for 60 seconds then fail. All so I can eliminate sleep edit from doco
yep works from cli

Is there a stable version out yet that fully supports PHP7? Just migrated our office's Zoneminder instance to a dedicated Ubuntu 16.04 server, but the version that ships with Xenial (1.29.0) apparently still has a version of Cake that fails on PHP7, and as such I can't use zmNinja anymore.

keithzg: no only in 1.30.0-rc1, which has one thing left to merge and then will be 1.30.0-rc2, which I expect to be 1.30.0 release unless we find any show stoppers
