is there a case for adding a new line to zm.conf ?

default to /zm/api

else what ever you put there relative to root of webdir ?

why is your api in /zm/api

surely your path would need to be /usr/share/zoneminder/www/zm

ah im not sure you misunderstood what i was suggesting

the api resides in the zm root

so any path that's written to .htaccess at compilation needs to be relative to the apache root ... is that right ?

i wonder how we detect that there is or is not a zm dir ... rather than the whole lot residing in the root

so directories are mapped to 'routing paths' (not the same) in zoneminder.conf , not zm.conf. If you look at zoneminder.conf, you will see an Alias that maps some alias to a real path

That is how apache knows, that if you visite yoursite/alias -> it needs to go to look for files in the directory mapped to that site

my 1080p 5fps ip cams are doing about 3Mb/s each

all the cameras are at 5fps

let me tell you the resolution

7 are at 480p

2 at 720p

all @ 5fps

i used nmon to track the network io

long as its not bottle necking i dont mind the nic card can go up to 1gbps

im just trying to find out why they're now lagging after adding 2 more its not the cpu because its still only at 46.6%

im installing sysstat to get the precise io now

we use 5e lots for poe, exterior grade if outside so it lasts longer in UV, otherwise bog standard.

zmc = zoneminder capture, i'm guessing you're running a high fps, in colour, at high resolution (or your box is slow)

the load issue seems to be mostly CPU related, not ram

the mem - yellow is cached, so ignore that. it's only using it because it's there

zma is the analysis daemon, that's only used for motion detection.

you seem to have four cameras added. Not seeing zmc for monitors 16 and 20 - are they capturing at low fps?

so - to reduce load, reduce the fps, cut resolution (if camera supports), switch to B&W, and/or go record instead of modect/mocord
