finally my h264 cam streams to ffmpeg without corrupted frames etc

i gather there's some fab work due to be released soon?

One thing that was nice - I was building from git but saw that the Debian Backports had a 1.28.XXX variant already packaged up.

We're in an era where packaging works pretty well, so as long as /someone/ is maintaining a reasonably modern version, I'll opt for that.

i liked how i didnt have to remember my old ./configure [blah blah]

but could just pull it from etc/zm.conf with cmake

ive had 11 usb cams till now

bought my first *proper* cam the other week from Banggood

i shouldnt be surprised that the quality of image isnt quite as advertised ... nor are fps speeds

but it's a good first step

but my it produces large streams

140GB per day of storage so far ... 1 cam ... 1080p 13fps

I am pretty certain I got it from the backport... Let me see what version.

1.28 is in jessie-backport

though for those of us who have done it since day #1 ... cleaning up borked installs, uninstalling, make cleaning, fixing permissions etc etc ... nothing new :D

i was suprised how easy it was last night compared to the hoops i jumped through a couple of years ago

just had a mysql password issue for some reason

but that was soon cleared up by the usual sledgehammer (reset mysql root and zmuser password) methods
