I installed zoneminder with debian testing packages

and it can't connect to the sql database

i looked at the lines with zmuser in mysql.user

there is 2, probably one i created to try fix the connextion. One with % host, the other one with localhost host

the password are the same, i checked with PASSWORD('mypassword') function

i can't connect, even with a simple mysql -u zmuser -p

what's the error message?

1045 error : access denied for zmuser at localhost

and on command line?

it was the response of the command mysql -u zmuser -p

usually there should be a (using password: yes/no) at the end.

using password : YES

same error when i launch the systemd "service"

i don't understand.

but you have some sort of setup problem with your database. you need to fix that.

jeanjack, maybe make sure that zmuser has been created

can you log with root on mysql?

then select * from mysql.user;

or select host, user, password from mysql.user;

already tried, It works and host=localhost, user=zmuser and password is the same as SELECT PASSWORD('zmpass');

i got two line zmuser, one other with the % host

really strange, looks to works now :

but a new issue come with rights of /etc/zm/zm.conf

sudo -u www-data test work

forget what i said about /etc/zm/zm.conf

line 33 : use zoneminder::config

well, /etc/zm/zm.conf must be readable for others with debian testing ! ( sorry for flooding )

I'm having trouble with really sluggish event playback on Chrome. Loadav on the ZM computer is around 2 (4 core x86/64 machine). Looking for insight for what else might be causing the bottleneck.

For example I've clicked on an event and the new browser window has opened, but it still hasn't started playing.

I'm testing with IE+Cambozola now.

It's no better. I get like 1 frame every 5 seconds.
