malte41: try to set up firstly as Remote and set the source.
a test I did, was to open the camera with the browser

knnniggett, fixxxermet, et al - Is there anyway via the command line to interrogate ZM to see if it's stopped? I had an automated mysql update cause ZM to stop and we never noticed it. Ideally I'd like to have ZM restart on any mysql update. I may have to charm that in juju.

To update zoneminder I should be able to just run git clone, build and install a new .deb, and then run 'zmupdate.pl', correct?
In the wiki it says 'zmupdate.pl --version=<from version> [--user=<database user> --pass=<database password>]' Where do I find my current version?
knnniggett
theoretically, yes. Keep in mind the master branch is essentially beta
You no longer need to supply "--version". Newer versions of zoneminder figure that out automatically now

knnniggett, I'm aware of that. It runs way better then old versions I was running though
