Hi there! Quick question. my winecfg is rendering incorrectly in the top left of my virtual desktop. I want to be able to use winecfg again, and i also wanted to disable the virtual desktop setting. Any advice?

Does that checkbox correspond to a regedit entry, and if so, which?

ah OK, I removed a regedit key which had a resolution specified, and this caused applications to start loading outside of a virtual deskto[

however winecfg is still stuck as being a 0 size "window"

I am also getting the following error:

Wine cannot find the FreeType font library. To enable Wine to use TrueType fonts please install a version of FreeType greater than or equal to 2.0.5.

I do indeed have freetype installed

curious, what distro is that to ship infinality stuff?

maybe wine is linked with regular library

freetype2 is at 2.7.1

freetype2-infinality is at 2.6.3

infinality is abandoned basically, with parts of it including in mainline

but it should work of course

is there a way to configure which screen a virtual desktop comes onto?

aphirst: at least not in wine, but your window manager might provide features to control this

well things are now working mostly OK

only thing that seems to be failing is the patch for assassin's creed 1/2 which makes it supposedly able to detect a 360 controller properly

i might go make an arch forum thread about that

and use a fresh wine bottle

i read elsewhere that xinput is On Its Way(tm) to wine?

i wonder whether i was causing issues for myself in that my old wine prefix wasnt actually a 32bit one

ok, will report this properly later, but it seems that despite being visible to wine, and to x360ce, it just "doesnt work" :/

aphirst, did you set xinput1_3.dll to builtin in winecfg?

i actually did not but i can test that now

you download both the config file and the modified xinput1_3.dll, right?

because the ini file alone does nothing

i spent an hour and got x360ce.exe working lol
