is anyone able to install origin? seems to be complaining about qt for me

_CommandeR_: did you try to install into a fresh wine prefix with 1.9.2 ? i'm asking because a similar issue was fixed in 1.9.2

then all I get is "this application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "xcb".....

_CommandeR_: i will give it a short try myself. some time ago it was still working, so could either be caused by an origin or wine update

minlexx: no qpa_plugin

but echo $QT_QPA_PLATFORM returns xcb

i think he means with the QT_ environment variable unset

yes, I think Qt may read that env var and try to load incorrect platform abstraction plugin

minlexx: hm I tried your last command in a new prefix it worked it seems atleast it shows the login window now

_CommandeR_: your linux installation of QT_* has set the environment variable, and wine passes it through to the windows version of QT

i'm not really sure what the best way is to fix that, usuallly this is considered a feature

yep, mine too, that's why launch wine through env

Too many games launchers are using Qt5 now, battle.net, eve online launcher, ...

these seem to be the variables sent by default; $QT_IM_MODULE=compose $QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb

sight I hate qt, more buggy than Steam on launchday

_CommandeR_: not exactly this may change into wine default profile for environment needing changing. Basically more added to blacklist.

oiaohm: nah its not that seems QT5 hates me personaly, both on KDE and now this.

_CommandeR_: there are issues that crop up not just effected QT where Linux environmental vars do Windows programs absolutely no good.

_CommandeR_: so please do consider opening a bug over them so developers can make a choice on how the issue should be solved.

_CommandeR_: there have been reports that there are possibility a few patches in staging breaking stuff. So do test back with normal development.

well, at least one user mentions a problem related to igo32.dll

yeah i found something about it in winehq

replaced with one sugested but still same

_CommandeR_: I would recommend running wine cmd and run the set command and look for other QT stuff set.

hm odd

launched in explorer mode, first it crashes but then clicking on origin desktop icon when it shows the windows desktop it works.

neat... clean wineprefix on 1.9.2 and sc2 runs without any winetricks hacks :D
