      • there is just a single blinking cursor, nothing more showing up at my ttys

ehoover: you should still know my old phone ;-) however, i had some experience with andchant on android devices
      • slackner5
ehoover: that is also what i am using
      • ehoover
Yeah, that's what I'm using. Is there a way to setup my NickServ password?
      • DarkDragon
use REGISTER if you haven't done so yet
      • sorry I just joined
      • slackner5
ehoover: i think you can setup that specific commands are automatically executed after joining
      • ehoover: but haven't tested it yet
      • ehoover
Alright, I'll have to give it a try.

        no free version? ^^
      • DarkDragon
        sure, there must be
      • I haven't purchased it yet, says google play
      • but ... I'm using it, I don't know how I could get it if not there
      • it seems they had a free version, which isn't supported anymore Oo
      • well you're the best coders out there I know ... so it wouldn't be hard for you to code one in 2 hours, lets say?

      • slackner: i'm just getting a black screen for "the longest journey" on 1.3.32
      • slackner5
        ehoover: hm? which wine version?
      • ehoover
        1.3.32
      • slackner5
        ehoover: upstream or any patches?
      • ehoover
just a patch to get bison working
      • it's consuming some pretty serious CPU time on its black screen though
      • slackner5
ehoover: hm, for me it worked (besides the drawing issues and the fact that it was extremely slow)
      • ehoover: which bison patch do you mean?
      • ehoover
well, i could try making a new prefix
      • slackner5
        ah, kk
      • hm, and what is the behaviour with 1.7.33 ?
      • ehoover
        don't know yet
      • Yoshimo has quit
      • got it working with a fresh prefix
      • odd
      • this prefix is not very contaminated
      • slackner5
hm, what is installed in there? some winetricks overrides ?
      • or does it need a pure 32-bit prefix maybe?
      • ehoover
        just .net 4
      • ok, patches confirmed on 1.3.32
      • slackner5
ehoover: doing the regression test will be a bit difficult, because the patch has to be changed to apply in new versions
      • ehoover: the bug report contains a patch for 1.5
      • ehoover
        i know
      • slackner5
ehoover: and our bug report contains one for 1.7
      • ehoover
there's no guarantee that there won't be patches that screw things up that are fixed later, it's really far back there
      • it'll suck pretty badly ;)
      • slackner5
        yep, i know ^^
      • too bad that git can't deal with such a situation ^^
      • ehoover
slackner: lol, that would be expecting a lot from it, you can always tell it to grab a patch if you know which one will fix something
      • slackner5
ehoover: well, i am not really expecting that much - just for example that its possible to cache the test results from a previous bisect ;)
      • (if there are for example other regressions inbetween, and multiple bisects are necessary)
      • ehoover
well, if you know that something's wrong you can use "git replace" on newer git
      • or put it into a bisect test script

I got tlj patches working to on 1.3.32. I had some problem with freetype on configure and also one with msxml tough.
      • slackner6
titan38_: ah, ehoover was also looking into that issue
      • and was planning to do a bisect
      • ehoover
i'm in the middle of the bisect now
      • 1.5.9 does not work, though i have updated the patches
      • titan38_: you should be able to fix the configure issue by linking /usr/include/freetype2 to /usr/include/freetype
      • slackner: how did you get up to slackner6?
      • DarkPlayer_Dup2
slackner is simply using too many devices
      • ehoover
yeah, but shouldn't it have picked 2 or 3?
      • slackner6
ehoover: lol, to avoid collision of my devices i have configured this one to use 5,6,7 or something like that ;)
      • ehoover
        ahhhh
      • titan38_: you want to double check my revised 1.5.9 patches?
      • DarkPlayer_Dup2
his new smartphone also uses some slacknerX number which is not connected at the moment
      • slackner6
ehoover: isn't there already a rebased on on the bug tracker ?
      • ehoover
slackner6: yes, but they were claimed to not work - so i did it manually
      • titan38_
titan38_: ehoover: np. I was just to test on my system.
      • ehoover
        ooo, new smarty-phone eh?
      • titan38_
        ehoover: yup sure
      • slackner6
ehoover: yep, but it looked correct
      • ehoover: and yep, new phone ^^
      • ehoover
      • slackner6
ehoover: why do you apply the other playonlinux patches ?
      • ehoover: the first one should be sufficient, thats the one for the z buffer issue
      • ehoover
slackner6: i'm using all of them since that's what's tested
      • slackner6
ehoover: it will be impossible to apply them all on top of 1.7.x
      • patch 2 for example - in the meantime lighting is properly implemented in ddraw
      • ehoover
slackner6: i want to establish a baseline using the existing patches
      • titan38_
titan38_: ehoover: I also experienced a pink outline in the text in the menu. There is a workaround for that tough.
      • slackner6
ehoover: well, to simplify bisecting i would suggest to test with only the first patch
      • ehoover
slackner6: for bisect purposes i'm only doing the first one, i just have a checkpoint with everything at 1.3.32 and 1.5.9
      • i actually have to revise it at each step, that's too much work for all of them
      • at least, the step i've done so far i've had to revise it
      • still waiting for the second step to compile
      • titan38_: if you had volunteered on the tracker i would have let you do it, i hate bisecting things this far back ;)
      • titan38_
ehoover: yep but now you started... ;)
      • ehoover
titan38_: well, i did play with wine code from this era - so it is a little easier for me to overcome some of the oddities that can occur when doing regressions from back then
      • mostly it's just waiting forever though
