It's a stupid example, I know I can write a function to replace the asyncio.sleep, but I want to exemplify how to use asyncio APIs with twisted

However, it's not working, with that implementation the start_request just never runs

adourado: p.s. i was cooking up some twisted/asyncio thing with txtorcon and aiohttp but the aiohttp SOCKS5 support is .. "weird at best"; is there some other SOCKS5-supporting asyncio web-client library to use?

I barely know what SOCKS5 is, man, sorry =/

adourado: asyncioreactor.install() creates its own event loop right now, which is fine for some things but not for integrating asyncio code

Got it. It will only create a new one if no other loop is passed?

the next release of twisted will have it retrieve the event loop from the global asyncio event loop policy

because that's what asyncio code does these days
