meejah: glyph: if you do start working on this I would be *very* interesting in discussing a shared test suite for asyncio loops, because there are a ton of APIs with not obvious behavior to match, and this has been a real issue for trio-asyncio

(we've done hacks like munging up a version of the stdlib testsuite so it can run against our loop, or munging up a version of the aiohttp test suite, but it's silly that everyone is reinventing this wheel)
