Like I said, it gives me a "content not found" page after I load the .pgsg
tried it on multiple computers and browsers.
waxwing
BB-Martino: i'll have to try and get hold of dansmith as i think he changed the file format, although it was a while back. try sending me the pgsg, i can check it my end
oh i forgot, privacy
BB-Martino
I need it to work on my end, not yours. Yes :(
waxwing
try the file.pizza link? it's a useful sanity check at least
BB-Martino
sanity check for what? it looks like an HTML
waxwing
sanity check that you can verify a pgsg i sent you
BB-Martino
you sent me a pgsg? :)
waxwing
it's a p2p webrtc transfer site
if you go there it downloads the pgsg file
BB-Martino
oh, no webrtc
which config is it again?
waxwing
oh i don't know. i can just send it some other way. it's only 4kB
BB-Martino
nvm found it
this one seems to work
waxwing
this won't solve the problem even if it works. i'm a bit concerned about this "content not found" i don't think that's the error we'd get if it was a file version issue. but not sure.
how about if you do a notarization of something nonprivate your end and send it to me.
BB-Martino
hm, the last .pgsg I received, it works with that
waxwing
then at least we have some baseline. it would probably end up meaning that the client is using an old incompatible version?
BB-Martino
is there any chance checking a .pgsg only works with webrtc enabled?
I didn't do anything since my last failed attempt
waxwing
no, that was just for the pizza site.
BB-Martino
oh well. it works now.
will let you know if the situation changes :) thanks.
waxwing
BB-Martino: np, sorry for reluctance to help, but dansmith really did almost all the work on the plugin
so if there's a hairy error i'll have to get hold of him probably
so what happened? the one that previously didn't work, now works? it looks like you didn't download my test pgsg.
it would be really interesting to see the code for SWIFT, I know nothing about how it's implemented
proslogion: interesting, my new site's tls config was supposedly designed to get an A+ on ssllabs, but tlsnotary still works. so that's something :)
proslogion
waxwing: i just found out that Bitsquare is using Pagesigner instead of raw TLSNotary
so if there is any problem with format change, need to be fixed quickly
waxwing: it's all your fault for opening the Pandora's box now nobody uses P2P TLSNotary anymore :)
waxwing
proslogion: well, i don't *think* there's any problem. the file version change was a while ago. again, a sanity check would be if someone downloads the above ^ and verifies.
proslogion
k i will
waxwing
proslogion: it's a fair point. but using p2p tlsnotary is kinda hard for non-techs.
just the synchronisation on its own is a major pain.
proslogion
why is that one so special?
waxwing
it's not special, i just wanted to sanity check that it works.
proslogion
k maybe sounding like a jackass but why do we check it?
waxwing
proslogion: to check that verification of a newly created pgsg file works, today. it'd be more itneresting if it didn't.
proslogion: do we know if anyone's tried to use it on bitsquare yet?
proslogion
i don't think there was
waxwing
hmm, looks like you connected but can't download?
proslogion
waxwing: check passed
waxwing
oh, ok. great, thanks.
proslogion
np
waxwing
i could only guess at what BB-Martino 's original problem was, i'd say maybe file permissions, but it sounds like he tried several times so prob not something like that.
proslogion
waxwing: there is a CNY offer on Bitsquare btw, albeit using OKPay as a payment method
we need to write an article about the importance of running a TLSNotary full node
waxwing
as if anyone ever did p2p tlsnotary in the first place :)
BB-Martino
I did, maybe twice, before PageSigner. Big hassle :|
waxwing
right, academically it's ideal, but in the real world...
