waxwing: are you familiar with the format of DNS requests? I know they can carry some payloads, like this: https://github.com/yarrick/iodine and this: http://resources.infosecinstitute.com/dns-tunne... , but can they be plausibly filled with random payloads, as a medium of transmitting disguised traffic?

first, i don't know. but i remember thinking about it; why it works with TLS is because the crypto needs proper randoms. other things might use quasi-random (not pseudo-).
