i was tempted to mention arbiter.co, but then i got un-tempted :)
oakpacific
waxwing: i still haven't found out the details of the auditing
do you know the specifics
waxwing
well i saw the email. i don't know any more than that
oakpacific
waxwing: i meant the bitbargain thing
waxwing
no, i haven't queried further. would seem rude
afaik it was just: delay, seller asks for money, he audits, is satisfied, sends coins back
i guess if buyer doesn't protest, that's the end of it. likely scammer.
oakpacific
waxwing: errr....
i have a different version here
buyer didn't press his bank enough, when his bank said the money should be there
then after the auditing, buyer increases the pressure, and turns out it's the bank's fault
my greatest worry is what if they had used tlsnotary the wrong way, and it all amounts to nothing
unlikely though ,bb-martino knows what he is doing
waxwing
this is the twitter age. 'tlsnotary used to resolve dispute' is the press release, don't delve into the details :)
yes, he seems highly competent, agree
oakpacific
waxwing: omg what have you drunk you sound totally different :)
waxwing
?
oakpacific
waxwing: in any case i will just get with the twitter age program :)
waxwing
well the only serious point behind my joke is that we can't delve into the details, it's a private matter. but if he's happy with it, that's probably good enough
oakpacific
waxwing: arbiter.co frontpage seems to be withdrawn
that looks like a good news, as someone seems to be maintaining it
waxwing
one thing i realised today is that, one way or another, this thing has to be packaged into the browser. it's just, i don't know how to do it, or if i do, it's way too much work.
oakpacific
waxwing: let's see which comes first: you get employed to work on tlsnotary or i find VC money :)
waxwing: nah you tone is too conservative
waxwing
interesting, it's redirecting to bitcoin.arbiter.co
"banking API's like finxera, plaid.io, Currencycloud, COREFX, fidorOS, Standard Treasury etc. aloThat side of fintech is on fire right now. There's got to be at least a dozen internet-only banking startups who have goals to open up their API completely. "
waxwing

waxwing
yeah agree with your response, basically
and sorry i forgot proof of solvency :) even if it's a bit limited/unlikely, should have put that one.

oakpacific: btw did you know Ian Grigg is the originator of the "Ricardian contract" idea?
I also heard he was helping with some aspect of openbazaar, which is really interesting
oakpacific
waxwing: i saw him mentioning it, but forgot if he was the originator
waxwing: huh
waxwing
yeah he's like an idol to a lot of these guys, e.g. fellowtraveler and so on
oakpacific
hmmm...okay
people worship other people for no apparent reason cough Andreas cough*
waxwing
;)
actually i don't think Grigg is a bitcoin fan at all, interestingly
oakpacific
waxwing: well, there is really no speculation needed for this part
for speculation i would go as far as saying he is actually envious of Bitcoin's success
waxwing
oakpacific: ah. so that means you know something.
because i got the exact same impression when i heard an interview with him about a year ago.
oakpacific
waxwing: well, notihng other than reading between the lines of his blogposts
