i mean blocking wikileaks only affected a few "rebels", but if they go the whole hog and block all of russia (OK likely they won't), it could have big repercussions

waxwing: i don't think they use much CC to start with?
"Hello. I found you in an r/bitcoin related thread; I am looking for feedback on our new service at tweetbit.org. Our market demographic is journalists in oppressive regimes. I am interested in any feeback on site design, bitcoin bloat, or other topics related to our service. I greatly value reddit user optinions, so feel free to express. Thank you."
got this from someone
made me thinking: how good/bad if we start messaging everyone about TLSNotary?
dansmith_btc
he almost coined a new word "optionion"
oakpacific
dansmith_btc: ha amzing
waxwing
yeah got that too
dansmith_btc
oakpacific, are you coining too? amzing = amusing+amazing
but anyway textbook french is "ne X pas" for verb negation, the "ne pas" isn't double negative like "Ya nikogda ne bil" in Russian "I never was not [something]", and whatever it is in Spanish. Maybe they have it in French too, I don't remember. Wouldn't be surprised though.
in russian it's strictly wrong to not include the extra 'ne'. it's not a matter of slang.
wow, it's amazing how much basic french i've forgotten. Je ne <X> jamais etc. So it's more or less the same in French as in russian. ne + jamais = never. Probably english is the exception. I can't remember how it goes for German at all.

waxwing: it's double plus good
despite being illogical, Chinese uses double negation strictly, though similar ambiguities rise in other places
waxwing
does it?
wo *bu* hui shuo putonghua.. :)
oakpacific
right
single negation=negation
waxwing
you mean that it's like english, it follows mathematics?
two negatives make a positive?
oakpacific
waxwing: yes
wo *bu shi *bu* hui shuo putonghua(it's not that i can't speak Mandarin)
waxwing
shi bu shi .. it reminds me of a little joke i came up with, like going to the shoe shop and asking if it's size 44 (zhe shi si shi si, shi bu shi), but in a southern accent where it sounds more like zi si si zi si si bu si.. :)
oakpacific
you seem to be extraordinarily gifted in language :)
but you can put a "hao"(size, cardinal number) behind "si shi si" to add clarity
waxwing
wasn't completely a joke. kind of happened; my size was actually european size 44/45.
quite difficult to find
oakpacific
hmmm, i am european 43 it is always rather easy for me, not sure if one more makes such difference
omg, british shoeshops have to use 3 different size units
