I have never used a 5k board, so I'm afraid not

mithro: If UPduino boards don't use tinyfpga's bootloader, then no, you don't need the offset

tinyfpga: See above -- starting to look into up5k based on cr1901_modern's ice40 stuff

Assuming the damn thing fits, up5k will actually be even better than 8k for micropython

cr1901_modern: There is a ./third_party/merge-upstream.sh script which gives you a good merge error messages

hmm.. ok, so Circuit Python has it, maybe they added it. .. I am still very fuzzy on the relation between the two codebases

circuitpython is adafruit's fork of micropython, AIUI
