        hi-all. should tfm-rubygem-algebrick in foreman-plugins be unsigned?
      • dcaplan joined the channel
      • mmoll
iirc -plugins is unsigned for yum

        g'day all
      • is there support for adding a kubernetes instance as a compute resource?
      • mmoll
        no.
      • golgi
'twas quick. thanks for the response
      • mmoll
that was an easy one ;)
      • but it would be interesting... as there's already docker support in general
      • golgi
        im just rebuilding my lab

another concern is , since our infrastructure is in AWS and instances come and go specially in dev enviromet , is there anyway to clean up the hosts that did not report after x days ?
      • mmoll
      • pjaff
hmm thx , can it be automatic ? apply to all the hosts that did not report after X days
      • mmoll
I don't use that plugin myself, so no idea :)

Iam having a bad time trying to install Foreman in Jessie (vmware): http://pastebin.com/6hdhKtDy
      • solefald
Guys, where in documentation does it state that i should not have Foreman running on a server that has anything else installed? I have it running on the same server with Nagios and Observium and it completely fucks up existing Apache configuration. It does not simply disable things, it straight up *removes* my apache configs for other 2 sites, disables modules
      • This is ridiculous
      • rsd
Doing the same, under lxc works fine
      • solefald
every time i need to run `foreman-installer` for whatever reason, I have to waste time restoring apache configs, re-enablding modules, etc
      • it removes files from /etc/apache2/sites-available! what is up with that??

after registering a client against the foreman server, i do a "yum repolist" but it saids that the system is not receiving updates. "you can use subscription-manager to assign subscriptions...clues...

      • jsherrill
Linux-ninja: how did you register the client?
      • Linux-ninja
I install the katello client and proceed to subscribe against the correct org and activation key as the docs describe, did I miss something
      • jsherrill
what command did you run to subscribe/register?
      • Linux-ninja: ^
      • Linux-ninja
        subscription-manager register --org="Operations" --activationkey="Operations_Non_Prod"
      • The system has been registered with ID: 7c0a6c2f-96f8-41b6-85e2-9765e0ec6ddf
      • jsherrill
        ahhh okay
      • but subscription-manager list --consumed
      • shows nothing?
      • Linux-ninja
        nada
      • jsherrill
have you added any subscriptions to your activation key?
      • Linux-ninja
        i did
      • base, updates, extras
      • jsherrill
        strange
      • are these centos repos?
      • or RHEL?
      • Linux-ninja
        centos repos
      • I can see the host register under the activation_key
      • but I dont see the repo listing
      • repolist: 0
      • jsherrill
is the host's subscription list empty as well?
      • after it registers?
      • Linux-ninja
the host shows up in the host subscription
      • I can see it under hosts> all host
      • jsherrill
if you go to hosts > content hosts > click the host > subscriptions
      • i assume the list is empty?
      • Linux-ninja
        I see it there
      • Attached 1 out of Unlimited
      • jsherrill
        on the 'list/remove' tab?
      • Linux-ninja
        yep
      • jsherrill
can you run 'subscription-manager refresh' on the client, and then 'yum repolist'
      • Linux-ninja
        same thing
      • jsherrill
        this is with katello 3.2?
      • Linux-ninja
        yep
      • Centos 7.2.x
      • CentOS 7.2.1511
      • jsherrill
        strange...
      • Linux-ninja
        very
      • jsherrill
so its subscribed, but for some reason thinks its not been assigned anything
      • Linux-ninja: can you try removing the subscription from that content host page
      • Linux-ninja
        yep
      • jsherrill
        and then adding it back?

Linux-ninja - are there any errors from sub-systems (foreman-proxy/candlepin) showing up in /var/log/foreman/production.log
      • it can help to tail $_ when running operations like jsherrill suggested
      • Linux-ninja
does it matter that my subscriptions are showing type "Physical"
      • This is for a VM
      • jsherrill
Linux-ninja: nah it shouldn't in this caes
      • case*
      • Linux-ninja
I dont see any error in the logs, everything completes with 200 OK
      • I even run a puppet agent -t and it end clear
      • do i have to create my repo file manually, is that what it is?
      • I thought the katello-agent was there for a purpose
      • rob101
is pulp enabled in your proxy? - it shows a green tick?
      • Linux-ninja
rob101, where do I check that tick?
      • Features: Pulp, Puppet, Puppet CA, and Logs = Status OK

Linux-ninja: another thing, you might go to Monitor > Tasks and look for any errored, paused, or warning tasks
      • rob101
my katello host is getting formatted. from memory, drop down the list item to see items enabled in proxy (such as puppet CA) and you should see things configured in proxy...
      • Linux-ninja
        jsherrill, all clean
      • success
      • jsherrill
        success?
      • oh
      • all tasks are success
      • did removing the subscription from the content host, adding it back, and then running 'subscription-manager refresh' help at all?
      • Linux-ninja
I am very puzzle as to why the repo are not showing, I have associted sync plans, products, content views and all the jazz
      • jesherrill, didnt help
      • I try it
      • Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, package_upload, product-id, search-disabled-repos, subscription-manager

      • Linux-ninja
jesherrill, I see two files ending in .pem
      • jsherrill
can you run rct cat-cert /etc/pki/entitlement/XXXXXXX.pem
      • on the one that doesn't end in -key.pem
      • and pastebin the output
      • Linux-ninja
        ok
      • the other .perm cert has a xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx-key.pem preciding it.
      • jsherrill
        hrmm
      • and this product RHEL_7_x86_64
      • has repos created under it?
      • Linux-ninja
