I ran katello-installer with specific certificates set on the answerfile.yaml (server-ssl-* parameters). Since I did that, I'm unable to subscription-manager register (it complains certificate validation failed)

if i set insecure = 1 on rhsm.conf it works, but I don't get why it is not working …

yes i installed the new katello-ca-consumer and make sure the katello-default-ca.pem on the server contains the good ca

can i have the proxy endpoint for reverse communication set to a cname of the foreman server?

i've got it set to foreman_url: https://foreman.example.com where foreman.example.com is the foreman server dns cname, but the actual hostname of the foreman server is foobar.example.com

i have a strange problem, i'm trying to register a machine that only goes by its shortname. katello correctly picks this up and puts in an entry for both content hosts and all hosts. the pulp client sees the fqdn and puts an entry in all hosts for that. this means that there is a double entry in all hosts and there is no correlation between the two lists.

i cleaned up all the entries and tried to resubscribe and adding the --name parameter to subscription-manager which was ignored.

blonewolfs: before registering, run: echo "{\"network.hostname\":\"`hostname -f`\"}" > /etc/rhsm/facts/katello.facts
