Possibly a silly question. Is there a way for foreman to build machines without pxe booting?
Say I had a ubuntu minimal install cd in a vm template?

Hi, I tried to provision some VM with foreman on Digital Ocean but I can't pass the "wait to come online" step. In the logs I got "could not connect to ssh-agent" and I checked on the created VM and "authorized_keys" is empty?
I have a question about using the isc dhcp server with Foreman
Currently I have DHCP listening on a subnet and it gives IP addresses in the range I have specified to all hosts/systems connected to that specific VLAN/subnet when it is setup to use automatic/dhcp

But I would like to change that behavior to just only give addresses to known hosts, aka the hosts configured/managed by Foreman. I had a discussion with our Network guy over here who was not very happy about the current situation

Priyantha: I am not very familiar with that part of foreman, but sound like something that the foreman smart-proxy could do
Priyantha: remove the range from dhcpd's subnet config
Priyantha
ah that should do it already Dominic ? :)

Dominic: Hi, do you have any experience in provisioning on Compute Resource like Digital Ocean :)
Dominic
I can't answer your question, if that's what you mean

samidarko: what image are you using? I just created a Ubuntu 14.04 box on DO and it worked fine
samidarko
eLobato: I'm using Debian 8 x64
eLobato: are you using your own image or one of DO's?
eLobato
samidarko: one of do's
samidarko
eLobato: btw I followed you last advise, created a VM and checked authorized_key for root and it was an empty file

samidarko: I uncheck just managed as I don't have a smart-proxy on DO
samidarko: you need provision so that when the interface is up the user_data gets sshed

samidarko: awesome. use DO's vnc if you want to see if the user_data was transferred properly
