can someone explain why this is a syntax error?

${join(" ", formatlist("-join %s", compact(split(",", join_servers)))}

this is in a template_file source

if join_servers is an empty string, I would expect that this would interpolate to "", but without compact it interpolates to "-join "

so I added compact - which causes a syntax error

I guess this would do the same thing I want:

replace(join(" ", formatlist("-join %s", split(",", join_servers)), "-join none", "")

actually, I have a syntax error for real :)

Hi all, I am having an issue with NIC order in the terraform.tfstate file where I assign to NIC's - sometimes the first NIC is network.0, sometimes it becomes network.1

Is there any way to control this behavior?

I would like the first nic to always be .0
