hi, is there any consolidated practical way to sync taskwarrior via git? i've made a script from scratch which does the job most of time, but it feels unreliable.
      • the reason why I am asking is mecause I am trying to switch away from using taskservers, which is because sync breaks time to time due to flaky connections i use

andrey_utkin: git is an inferior sync, when there are multiple changes to a single line. It creates conflict resolution situations. So if you don't mind that, it will work. Kinda.

Hmm. I'm finding that "task sync" often times out when trying to sync with inthe.am, but "task rc.debug=5 rc.debug.tls=5 sync" seems to always succeed and never time out. I'm assuming the debug stuff is somehow altering network timings, etc., in order to send debug feedback. Just seems weird.

Hi, what do you like to use for notes? I'm looking for something similar to taskwarrior: command line based, technically oriented.
      • DoomPatrol
hfp: there is taskwiki or vimwiki
      • taskwiki is vimwiki + tasks
      • i tried using taskwiki but realize that's not how i wanted to use it
      • hfp
DoomPatrol: Thanks, I'm looking for something to take notes in, but these not aren't generally related to tasks in taskwarrior; I use annotations for that. I was asking here because I like taskwarrior's philosphy more than to find something that integrates with.

i keep extended notes in org-mode
      • hfp
I heard about orgmode, but I don't use emacs and I don't think you can get it anywhere else?
      • vimwiki looks like what I might be after, I'll try this otu

hfp: for jotting down things or microjournalling, you might like jrnl.sh :)
      • hfp
ClawOfLight: Thanks, I tried it before but it didn't stick. It seems to be meant for writing a journal rather than keeping links or snippets of code with notes
      • ClawOfLight
yeah, I only use it for jotting things down that I might want to be able to find later.

        @ClawOfLight - thanks for the jrnl.sh tip!
      • So I have an issue - I've managed to mark a task as done, but it's not done yet. How do I undo that?
      • bepolymathe has quit
      • DoomPatrol
        task undo
      • donblanco
well I've made a couple of changes since then - I can't specify the task # to undo?
      • nvm - I think maybe I didn't change the wrong one after all? maybe
