Hi - question about subscriptions - I have a use case where a customer might us their personal card for one subscription and a business card for another. I'm confused by If you want to add an additional source, instead use the card creation API to add the card and then the customer update API to set it as the default. Will this change the card used for all existing subscriptions?
      • koopajah
mattb : you can't do this. Subs always charge the default source. You always have to use separate customers in that case

      • i have a question about your platform

Guest27132 : sure, what do you need?
      • Guest27132
what's the difference between 'payouts' and 'payments' tabs
      • koopajah
Payouts is the funds that go to your bank account. Payments is the funds that come from customers. The first one is "we send you money" the second is "what customers paid"

so the main difference is that in the payments it shows a 3% fee charge from the customers?
      • mattb
@koopajah - that's a real pain kind of makes multiple subscriptions with multiple cards a real nightmare to deal with
      • koopajah
kind of, those are just different concepts really.
      • mattb : correct though it's extremely uncommon, at least based on my experience with users for multiple years
      • but it is a pain we're aware of and would like to fix in the future
      • Guest27132
        okay thank you!!!

Seems lots of people have the same issue: https://groups.google.com/a/lists.stripe.com/fo... (since 2014)

<@koopajah> - agreed, but, it does indicate a general need - I guess we'll have to look at alternatives as it's probably more hassle managing multiple customers/cards and subscriptions than we really want to commit to - we'd have to manage this in our main website flows and also in salesforce
      • koopajah
I would recommend using separate customers, no real alternatives other than not using our subs

@koopajah - our current active userbase is 900k custs each potentially with multiple subscriptions at least 1 personal and poss. multiple business subs, of these they could be one card but all could all be different) - we'll have to check out the competition I think as the various user cases and CRM cases will push out our development quite significantly. Now's probably an appropriate time we can migrate legacy custs at the same time.

        Hi there
      • Having some issue with Stripe on Firefox on a mac, getting this error: "Content Security Policy: Directive ‘frame-src’ has been deprecated. Please use directive ‘child-src’ instead. (unknown) The use of the style property lineHeight is discouraged, because it can lead to visual inconsistencies among various browsers. Consider using a padding on the Element’s container instead."
      • Sorry, first error only....copy and paste
      • koopajah
this is not a real error it's usually just Firefox saying this in Test mode
      • my guess is that the tokenization still happens

Hi all - Im trying to pause subscriptions but am a bit confused on https://stripe.com/docs/subscriptions/canceling... . It says I should use the trial period to change the billing cycle - but Im not sure how this would work in practice
      • I imagine one would set the trial to begin/end to when one wishes to bill the account again, but how does this pause the subscription until that time?

Hi striper's - I have a strange question that I'm hoping someone can help answer. I'm living out of country on a working holiday visa, and require a new bank account to fund which will be used as a slush fund for some products I'll be purchasing on behalf of clients. Unfortunately I can't open a new bank account from my home country from abroad, so I'm stuck a little. Would stripe's service allow me to use it in this fashion?
      • ie can I dump say $1000 into the account and just let it hang out there and use that amount as a pseudo chequings account / credit card to make online purchases on behalf of clients?
