Anyways, I was wondering if I am able to use a PayPal account in place of a bank account for accepting payments?

most frameworks dont load up extra modules unless you specify for them, enabling them that 'f1' speed you prefer :P

Thanks, I'm just trying to get all of my stuff in one place and I'd prefer to use PayPal as that central account, maybe in the future they'll offer it as an option

What about GST (VAT etc) do i get charged on that? for example if i charge $40 and gst is $4 (10%) do i charge the entire amount or how does that work?

like do i do the charging and then you charge the 1.75% on that?

you're responsible for collecting VAT I believe

well i have been researching stripe and out of all of them, stripe, authorize.net, paypal etc - they seem to be the best - but i have read complaints that accounts have been cancelled without notice

why is door to door sales banned?

wfpkhc: for one thing, you shouldn't be using stripe for card present transactions

what do you mean by that?

wfpkhc: Stripe isn't meant to be used where you have the card physically present like for physical instore or person to person charges where you would normally swipe the card

so the terms of service do prohibit stripe to be used for personal use, so you have to be running some sort of "business"

The issue with that site, compared to BBB is that Stripe doesn't respond so you get only one side of the story

There have been many cases where people yell here at Stripe stealing their money when they were actually in the wrong and doing something wrong, but they think that if they yell Stripe will be forced to concede and give them their ill-gotten money. I'm not saying its always the case but you should take some of the stories with a grain of salt

Stripe powers Shopify payments though

you think these comments are bad - YOU GOTTA READ PAYPAL man - the public has pitchforks and torches for those guys!

all the payment companies will have these sorts of reviews. Credit card companies are a pain to deal with and people like their money
