      • markin: thank you so much for your help!
      • markin
you're welcome. Note that a pin code system might lead to more brute force attempts than a standard password

        hi
      • how r u guys?
      • markin
Doing alright, how are you? Whats up?
      • didine
ohh fine, i just have a little technical question about Stripe
      • markin
        ask away
      • didine
i'm trying to find a way to create or update a card attached to a user
      • i explain, when i get a token from stripe i want to know if its attached to a new card (and if so i attach it to the user ) or a existing one
      • markin
So adding a token to a customer is always going to create a new card. If you use the retrieve token API with your secret key, you'll be able to access the fingerprint of that card. You could then compare that fingerprint to all the customer's cards. If the fingerprint matches, then you can delete the card and then add the new card
      • didine

Hi, I would like to ask how long will it take to move over the pending balance to available balance?
      • markin
Its the same that your automatic transfer schedule would be so in the US 48 hours in most cases
      • FPM-LeadDev
actually it almost 7 days from the date transferred and still it is in the pending balance, so it looks like I'm having an issue on the account?
      • Aerospark joined the channel
      • markin
7 days from when you charged the card? If you go to https://dashboard.stripe.com/account/transfers what does it say next to transfer schedule?
      • FPM-LeadDev
yes, I'm using manual transfer, it is okay now. I have it on the available balance just now. Why it take so long?

regarding the bitcoin api https://stripe.com/docs/guides/bitcoin_beta#ref... is there a way to show the checkout popup with just the bitcoin option and not the card option?
      • markin
FPM-LeadDev: if your account was previously set to 7 days automatic transfers it would be 7 days, if it was 2 day automatic transfers it'd be two days
      • siraj: nope. If you just wanted to accept bitcoin and not credit cards, something like bitpay or coinbase would be probably better
      • siraj
i have a user enter debit card and bank info and save the customer and recipient objects in the database so i can charge them later without them having to re-enter their credentials. wondering how best to go about this with bitcoin. could i make a customer object out of a bitcoin token?
      • i want to accept bitcoin as well
      • FPM-LeadDev
        okay thanks will check that
      • where can I check that?

      • a9hosting
        hey is anybody available nowÉ
      • ?*
      • markin
siraj: with bitcoin you can't save the details because bitcoin only allows the customer to send (or push) bitcoins, where as credit cards allow merchants to receive (or pull) funds
      • FPM-LeadDev: support should be able to say, on https://dashboard.stripe.com/account/transfers under Transfers API it should say something like "Every day, we'll bundle your transactions for the day and make them available in your Stripe balance 2 days later. You can create manual transfers from your available Stripe balance."
      • FPM-LeadDev
yeah I see that but what I would like to know is where can I verify if our account is set previously to 7 days or 2 days only?
      • markin
without switching back to automatic transfers, you'd have to email support@stripe.com

      • it just says in quotations : scheduling
      • FPM-LeadDev
        okay thanks
      • markin
a9hosting: your first transfer takes 7 days. you can see your transfer schedule at https://dashboard.stripe.com/account/transfers

Hi i can't seem to get the Example App to run correctly. Hitting the pay button doesn't send anything to my Stripe account. Anyone have tips on how to troubleshoot?

Do you see anything in your parse logs?
      • and here https://dashboard.stripe.com/test/logs/overview do you see a post to /v1/charges
      • mayyang
        no to both
      • markin
and you put in your api keys in all the right places?
      • mayyang
        yes i believe so

I see the docs don't mention updating https://github.com/stripe/stripe-ios/blob/maste...
      • mayyang
I did update that too :\
      • markin
can you add a console.log("hello") in there just to make sure they get it
      • mayyang
sure, i'll give that a try, one sec
      • yes i see the console.log in my cloudcode
      • markin
interesting, and if you put a console.log() in the success and error function?
      • nemothekid has quit
      • ugh Parse has horrible documentation
      • mayyang
just tried, i see those console.logs in the success and error functin.
      • markin
huh, your parse logs have it printing that it succeeded and failed?
      • mayyang
sorry, i'm probably not following what you were asking me correctly
      • i'm very new to programming
      • i put in the console.log code in the main.js file and deployed it to my care account
      • i can see the new code in my CloudCode
      • and in my logs it says this: I2014-12-01T03:05:52.727Z] Deployed v1 with triggers: Cloud Functions: charge I2014-12-01T04:11:21.424Z] Deployed v2 with triggers: Cloud Functions: charge I2014-12-01T04:15:49.785Z] Deployed v3 with triggers: Cloud Functions: charge
      • markin
okay, so the code is there, so console.log is a function that will print to your console (in this case the parse logs) anytime that code runs
      • so if you make a new charge with your app, hopefully something will print to the parse logs
      • mayyang
i see, does what i pasted from my parse log above mean that it partially worked when i pressed the pay button?
      • oh i see, it's actually each time i did parse deploy after updated the main.js file
      • markin
thats just notes that you deployed changes. parse's website will have a way to actually view the logs
      • mayyang
is that in Analytics? I am not seeing any data logged there
