say a member is on a subscription to pay $30 monthly. Than his payment fails. what i do is block his account until he pays. not deleting his subscription or anything. than 2 days later he makes the payment. current;y hell be charged the full amount. how do i prorate his payment without changing billing cycle?

someone didnt take the happy pill this morning.

so the flow would be right before i charge, add a line item prorating them, attach it to the invoice and it would prorate them? seems simple enough

If you manually charge them that would work, but if you have stripe do the renewing automatically that wouldn't work

a discount would just be a lineitem with a negative integer

also if you're billing monthly why would you need to proroate? wouldn't it even out over time?

and what if they cancel before the next month?

the usecase is card charge fails, users checks the system 2 days later, pays, see he is charged the full amount but 2 days he didnt use the system -> yelling at customer ser vice

canceling is done at the end of billing cycle. you paid i dont refund

Well if he pays for the month and he doesn't log in to use the service thats his problem, You could just cancel his subscription after 2 days and if he wants back in start a new one up

that could be a good solution too

We're not sure what the longterm plans for #stripe are, but we know we'd like it to be in a better state than it is (as far as having Stripes around, etc)

we just released daily subscriptions, which helps but doesn't solve the problem of difficulties around testing subs

On 3rd he logs ion, see his account is out, pays the full amount but gets pissed of because he gets 2 days less. how would you advise i pay him back the 2 days.
