        hi
      • i'm trying to create a bank account token for a recipient
      • Woet
      • johnnyletrois
        what i've been doing to create a card token for charges and subscriptions is Stripe.createToken({number, cvc, exp_month, exp_year, address_zip}, stripResponseHandler);
      • the tutorial calls for Stripe.card.createToken instead of the straight Stripe.createToken i've been using
      • i'm wondering if Stripe.createToken({country, routingNumber, accountNumber,}, stripeResponseHandler); is going to work instead of Stripe.bankAccount.createToken

thanks Woet, but I'm still unclear why my card token javascript is just Stripe.createToken instead of Stripe.card.createToken

        johnnyletrois: i'm not sure
      • but Stripe.bankAccount.createToken should work for you
      • johnnyletrois
thanks. i just thought it strange that card was missing from Stripe.createToken when creating card tokens
      • Woet
yea, im checking what it does
      • johnnyletrois
        cheers
      • Woet
the javascript being minified doesn't help
      • maybe they used Stripe.createToken in the beginning
      • and after that moment they started offering transfers and bank accounts
      • so they changed it to Stripe.card and Stripe.bankAccount
      • but made Stripe.createToken forward to card to make sure it's backwards compatible
      • that sounds most likely to me
      • johnnyletrois
        that would make sense
      • thanks for your help
      • Woet
        no problem
      • good luck

I find it interesting that when creating an invoice for a subscription, it creates (2) invoices, one unpaid (Today's Date), and one paid invoice (Start Date - End Date). I imagine that the first invoice with today's date and unpaid, is the invoice for the end of the subscription invoice.
      • I wonder if i'm doing something wrong, but I followed the instructions of creating invoice line items. Then creating the invoice

      • Lol :: Subscriptions bill totally independently. If a customer has a monthly subscription to plan A, and a monthly subscription to plan B, then each month they will receive 2 separate invoices and be charged twice.
      • Gotta link to these pages from the API Documentation

Hi, Looking to use stripe to take payments for our camp. Our rego form is set up in wufoo. Our wufoo is integrated with stripe.
      • Want to know how (if?) we can create new customers in stripe with every new wufoo entry.
      • It defeats the purpose is every new customer in wufoo then has to then be manually entered into stripe.
      • Thank you for your time :)
      • m0dmd
Alex______: you can do it on the fly using Stripe's Create method :)
      • Alex______
sorry, bit of a novice. can you elaborate on the "create method"?

i'm worried a possible security problem i may face on my platform and i'm looking for some hints to how solve it... long story short, i'm developing a platform like shopify where users customize/buy themes, those are used also for the billing page where stripe.js is, and a possible attacker could use js to send the cc info externally to his server... i'd prefer not using a standard billing page managed by us (without any external js)
      • awfy has quit
      • some suggested to use iframes, but i think that an attacker could just change the url of the iframe and craft a similar page
      • otherwise the other idea is having a standard billing page, and a checkbox where users say that they understand and have checked that there is no bad js in their theme, and if anything happens they cannot blame us... i wonder if this is possible or if we'd still have trouble
      • henriwatson
the only way around this, really, is to not have user-provided code running on the billing page
      • jj_
i was also checking the content security policy http://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/security... but i'm not sure it covers when a whitelisted js contact an external server
      • alex09876 joined the channel
      • i know..that's why i thought about giving them a choice to enable them if they want...having the safe one as default
      • henriwatson
is there any reason why the theme must be loaded on the billing page?
      • alex09876
A quick question, if anyone is here. Does Stripe accept payments from the UnionPay network (mainland China)?
      • jj_
consistency with the rest of the website... having the same theme and not a different one (even if neutral or slightly customizable, as many do)
      • henriwatson
        alex09876: checking
      • jj_: what I would do personally if have a page with an iframe for the theme (with security policies forbidding code inside the theme from escaping up) then have the "Buy" button at a top bar in the main page
      • jj_
        i'm not sure i understand it =)
      • henriwatson
alex09876: "United States businesses can accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, and JCB" it seems the answer is no :(
      • jj_: so, okay, have you seen how the theme preview sites will have a bar at the top with the theme information and the like?
      • alex09876
        henriwatson: Thanks
      • henriwatson
        alex09876: yep!

henriwatson: Shame. Would be a nice feature. Credit cards have really taken off in China in the past 2 years, many UnionPay
      • jj_
        henriwatson: yes
      • henriwatson
jj_: right, so do that and have the theme preview inside a iframe
      • that way the theme is isolated off from the top bar (containing the billing code) and it's still the same general look
      • jj_
henriwatson: well, the theme preview is showed only by the admin... users see the theme itself... think it like shopify, you choose (or buy) a theme and that's it.. that's why I'd like to have also the billing form within the same theme
      • henriwatson
alex09876: yeah. hopefully either Stripe will directly pick up UnionPay or Discover will add support for UnionPay for e-commerce
      • alex09876

jj_: so, at the moment you're injecting your billing code into the theme?
      • jj_
        yes
      • henriwatson
I wish I could provide an example of what I'm describing but I'm currently on a rather slow 3G connection.
      • jj_: unless you want to have code that checks the theme, your best option is to iframe it or have the billing code elsewhere
