can i ask for help with creating extensions and expect to get better answers than "read the source" here?

currently i'm wondering how i can add a highlighted code example from a custom directive

i have found very little documentation about the extension api and most of what i've found is irrelevant to what i'm trying to do

i guess this channel is just as quiet as i expected to be... i'll find a simpler alternative to sphinx, the plugin interface is way too complicated to use without good docs or support
