hello! I’m new to IRC and to Sphinx.

I’ve a question on adding images to the documentation, especially when adding images under a list

When I add two images and then begin the next paragraph, the new paragraph begins under image2, in the center of the document.

Why is this happening?

That said, our geometry will be simple [solid] cuboids and [shell] rectangles

What happens when you put a blank line between the second figure and the start of the next paragraph?

In general instead of pasting more than maybe two lines at most use a pastebin like http://paste.pound-python.org/

I do have a blank line between the last ‘.. figure’ statement and the next line

My first thought is that it might be adding the second paragraph as a caption for the second image.

my bad.. this one that i sent you was my workaround to my problem. The figures were initially aligned left and right

I’m trying to run make on a doc file that I created at work using a different computer and this doesn’t seem to work.

MAKE is throwing up an error… Is this even possible? I’m not sure

What command are you running, and what's the error?

make clean && make html

ValueError: unknown locale: UTF-8

make: *** [html] Error 1

Something on your system doesn't support UTF-8? That's surprising.

I’m on a mac running the latest OS. Yes, that is surprising!!

using python 2.7.6

*locale* is utf-8?

shouldn’t that be encoding?

yes, unicode, if i’m not wrong

yeah sounds like your locale is set to a value python doesn’t understand, sdough’s link ought to help

Disturbing that OS X would ship with broken locale settings.
