Installing setuptools, pip...done.

cool, now foobar/bin/pip install sphinx should get you there

now will Sphinx be relegated only to the foobar directory, or will it be available globally (any directory?)

FYI Success: Successfully installed Jinja2-2.7.3 Pygments-2.0.2 alabaster-0.7.3 babel-1.3 docutils-0.12 markupsafe-0.23 pytz-2015.2 six-1.9.0 snowballstemmer-1.2.0 sphinx-1.3.1 sphinx-rtd-theme-0.1.7

so would I put the source code directory into the Virtualenvs dir now and then generate?

beond: as long as you use foobar/bin/sphinx you can run that on wherever you want
