it doesn't have anything to do with that search.

makara: there's a builtin search for single documents ... not sure what others do for more comprehensive stuff.

Maybe they use readthedocs

brucem, one of my devs wanted to search for `C++` but the search will strip the pluses

so, headings in rST aren't based on any specific underline/overline character

it looks for the first heading calls it an h1, and then the first new character denotes an h2, for the rest of the document...

let me guess, order of first precedence?

if you go * then - then = that will be h1, h2, h3

now, in sphinx, each *document* can use a different order, but you'll drive yourself crazy that way ;)
