what do you use for search?
-
brucem
it doesn't have anything to do with that search.
-
makara: there's a builtin search for single documents ... not sure what others do for more comprehensive stuff.
-
Maybe they use readthedocs
-
makara
brucem, one of my devs wanted to search for `C++` but the search will strip the pluses
-
so I'm trying to find out how it works

JoeHazzers
for some reason when i use a section with = for the title, it appears as a *child* of a subsection delimited with -
-
what's going on?
-
tychoish
can you share the source?
-
JoeHazzers
sure
-
-
tychoish
oh
-
ok
-
so, headings in rST aren't based on any specific underline/overline character
-
it looks for the first heading calls it an h1, and then the first new character denotes an h2, for the rest of the document...
-
JoeHazzers
let me guess, order of first precedence?
-
oh okay.
-
tychoish
i'm not exactly sure what order of first precedence means in this context, but maybe? ;)
-
JoeHazzers
if you go * then - then = that will be h1, h2, h3
-
tychoish
right
-
JoeHazzers
thanks.
-
tychoish
now, in sphinx, each *document* can use a different order, but you'll drive yourself crazy that way ;)
-
JoeHazzers
i'm using rST. I'm already driving myself crazy ;)
-
tychoish
haha
-
it could be worse ;)
-
JoeHazzers
XML.
-
tychoish
I've been writing rST every day for the last 5 years; I've either come to like it or I have Stockholm syndrome.

tychoish: what are you doing that requires writing it everyday?
-
tychoish
the easiest answer: I'm a technical writer.
-
ericholscher
makes sense :)
