in what case, execute_async_script returns immediately?

i have a piece of code works strangely. execute_async_script timed out once, and i execute another piece of script. it immediately returns without waiting for the callback

is this a bug?

Acn anyone advise a release date for Selenium 3.12.0?

jim__: generally there arent fixed dates, whenever its ready and the maintainers have time to do a release

why execute_async_script("alert()") returns immediately?

execute_async_script("a=3") blocks

davidleon you have to .set_script_timeout or whatver it is in python first

dude-x, it's the script behaves differently

one blocks the other with alert returns immediately

i don't know why there is a difference

I think returning immediately when alert() is called is a specific behaviour

I think it might even be a semi recent change

and i made a few changes in the IE driver

i remember you talking about it recently

so that when you called execute_script (synchronously) that threw an alert, your webdriver code wouldn't block anymore.

right

and yeah, the spec language for alert handling in script (sync or async) is inconsistent with every. other. command. in the spec.

jason-m-corte-sl there are probably quite a bit online, but not sure any one of them are recommended by the team (unless we've created one). any reason you have to use a video vs the official documentation/tutorials?

Has to do with the audience it's being delivering it to. Videos would be more their speed, like a follow along sort of thing.
