stevepie_: PEP8 calls out creating custom dunders, but the only other common strategy is the `class Meta` as an attribute :/

sqlalchemy and pyramid are the main two frameworks where i'm familiar with custom dunders. and i respect the architecture and thought behind the design that went into both.

dfee: they are very similar but the dunder approach doesn't require a metaclass

dfee: for frameworky things it's a nice approach but it's important not to overuse it which is why it's being warned about
