egg uri, can not be project name ... it has naming constraints

and name param for setup also can not be project name, it has constrains like can not end with a - and so on

trying to figure out if it is safe_name

I got a PR coming ... wanted to add "--package-name" to pcreate

cause currently project name is derived from project name and that has all kinds of wrong

I run around renaming things all the time

Convert an arbitrary string to a standard distribution name

Any runs of non-alphanumeric/. characters are replaced with a single '-'.

except according to Pep0426

Distribution names MUST start and end with an ASCII letter or digit.

they can not end with a -

PR for pkg_resources required :P

pkg_resources.to_filename will actually give you the right one

which we expose as "egg" in scaffold.vars

and python packaging hoists us again

since pcreate will be deprecated in 1.8, removed in a subsequent version

stevepiercy: I seriously doubt we should be removing pcreate just yet. There are tons of scaffolds out there.

last time we talked pcreate was going to stay but not promoted

it will stay for at least a couple versions, after that it depends on maintenance burden

meaning the first time we change the scaffolds we will probably kill it :P

(if I'm the one forced to change them)
