client side only is terrible

pita to debug, navigation makes no sense without a bunch of complicated history/state code

and you gain so little

on my side I have to admit that client side only, using react, makes it so much more convenient, easier to debug, and easier to do great ux

Yeah, I am doing as much as possible client side. This way I build an API and now I can easily add mobile apps and more.

this is another advantage, to plug multiple UIs

NotreDev: I use psql and real enums

no hacks needed

sqlalchemy has native support nowadays

moo-_-: are you able to natively convert single-letter codes to enum types?

i.e. monthly = "M", "Monthly"

quarterly = "Q", "Quarterly"

terminated = "T", "Terminated"

administratively_terminated = "A", "Administratively Terminated"

postgres doesn't do code to enum

i prefer to use a TypeDecorator that just checks what's being stored and read
