I have done some changes to my local source code, however, the master branch has done some other changes. How can I force git to update my local code with the source code from the master branch no matter discarding my changes

git reset --hard some_branch_name

git doesn't have offline interface, as one has to google every time how to perform moderately complex git command :)

stevepiercy: you can use something like webpagetest.org to run tests with different browsers and from different locations.

yeah, firefox and chrome have pretty good simulation for that

i just don't have the website built out yet

DDoS and networky stuff is in the CDNs interest. They need to know how to handle malformed TCP/IP

i run my own iptables and fail2ban, and that does a pretty good job

They don't want to scare off managers

iptables and fail2ban doesn't really do anything if the incoming traffic just saturates the pipe

They also want to sell the advanced stuff at a premium.

part of it is a perverse curiosity to learn what attackers are doing these days

the most common is still the simpliest afaik, send as much data as you can to clog up the pipes
