I still don't think integer fields should be able to have NULLs. 3VL is such a mess.

The tests seem to indicate that an empty string should be acceptable... i'm trying to figure out how that works, though

Well, I can't speak for mcdonc_ but maybe it was a bit of search and replace.

A PR with a test always has a better chance of acceptance than NULL

Charlie_X: how do you want to specify an integer field that was never given a value?

wiggy: you can do it with colander.null .. it's just that before you could also do it with None and that feature was removed for mysterious reasons
