Is it possible to inline HTML in rst somehow? I have a nice idea but either I have to write everything in an html block and I'll lose a lot of formatting capability unless I replicate it, or I just can't do what I want
      • hmm, apparently raw can be used to do it
      • This is going to get ugly pretty fast, but the pain is worth it

        .md can have inline html

Might have to look at moving to that anyways at some point, it seems better supported in the ecosystem
      • But it seems like Markdown has the same problem as I would have had with RST if raw didn't exist, you can't use Markdown formatting inside HTML tags. At least according to this documentation I'm reading
      • span-level tags it works but not block-level
      • thardin
hm. yeah that might be problematic
      • I'm starting to lean toward .md being harmful. one should just use html

iirc you can add a `markdown="1"` attribute to the html tag to use markdown formatting inside it
      • it might need the "extra" extension

        neat
      • I'm probably going to try and make a blog post which ends up as sort of a math "choose your own adventure" where the text changes based on you changing values. https://i.imgur.com/CfVyv2T.png
      • so sort of like a calculator tool. except you can read through the post and see what your choices actually mean in terms of the values being changed
      • might switch from restructuredtext to markdown on the blog... seems better suited
      • heh
      • while that is true, I posted it to the wrong channel, that's what I get for swapping between desktop and laptop every 5 minutes
