I am looking for a good printer mac compatible business model A4 laserjet

Could someone please advise on a good printer for a mac only environment?

We've switched out everything for copiers.

Teachers don't like it when the first thing you ask when they have trouble with printing, "Why are you printing?" :-)

We went 1:1 with Chromebooks this year and I still have a high school English department that makes the students print out their papers.

Google Docs makes it relatively painless too.

If you have every student set up with a google id for school, groups, permissions

And I've shown how they can use Goodreader on an iPad to grade Google Docs as PDFs.

its just the people that arent

someone in our department is still keeping track of our days off in a networked excel sheet and keeps whinging to everyone that she cant edit it because someone else is looking at it.

Luckily I only have one teacher that still has AppleWorks documents.

Pretty soon im gonna have to manage all the macs in this building, everyone that has a mac now has free reign over how its used but that has to change ._.

I just have to block them updating their own systems and roll them out once they're cached on the server

Munki for applications, Puppet for machine management.

Its mainly the OSX updates though

But on 10.11 release day everyone individually downloaded that update

Reposado will cache those updates for you, much like Apple's SUS. But you can also set up people on different releases, so a few testing users can get 10.11 on release day, but it won't show up for everyone until you say so.

what are the implications of having a windows domain server just for the purpose of joing all machines of an enterprise (60 users). All machines are Apple laptops and imacs.

After some research it seems that there are pros and cons to it but I am having a hard time in finding a reliable source
