I'm thinking of trying to write a script that will help parse DS Workflow plist files and identify which workflows point to an image that no longer exists. But first any chance someone already has such a script?

tackittj: It would be faster just to try to image a computer and figure out which workflows fail :p
that's my Friday afternoon style suggestion
tackittj
haha
we have a *lot* of workflows and way too many cooks in the kitchen

that thing from last year called "sean test" was way more important than its name implied...

gneagle: you had anyone report "AttributeError: 'super' object has no attribute 'init'" tracebacks in gurl?
i have one client doing it, and i suspect it's some bizarrely broken system python
but figured i'd check...
gneagle
salajander: No, but that sounds like broken PyObjC

quick question for the channel. Does the Install Yosemite.app from the app store have a build number for the OS it installs in a readable place?
salajander
i think he's installed a _newer_ version of pyobjc

gneagle: yeah, you were right - switched it over to pkgbuild for safety
gneagle
sohailmamdani: yes
sohailmamdani
gneagle: info.plist under Contents?
gneagle
createOSXinstallPkg reads it; so does InstaDMG
Oh, no, you have to look inside InstallESD.dmg
The app is just a wrapper
sohailmamdani
aaah.

yeah, I see it now
dropped the installer onto Autodmg
anyone downloaded the installer in the last 24 from the app store?
If so, do you know if it has been updated for 14D2136?
I’m hearing that’s the forked build for the new MBP

sohailmamdani: That's a machine-specific build
The general build is different
It is truly a fork
So no, the App Store download won't ever be the machine-specific forked version(s).

ah. Wonder if it’ll work for other hardware...
if I extract the InstalESD

~Friday~
gneagle
sohailmamdani: For varying definitions of "work".
sohailmamdani
that oo
too
gneagle: so past experience teaches us that it most likely will be glitchy
which to me isn’t a big deal right now.
gneagle
Apple does not support and I do not recommend installing machine-specific builds of OS X on machines other than the ones it shipped on.
Don't do it.
sohailmamdani
gneagle: just put it back in the box

got a nice policy that deploys everything I need to the new machines without reimaging

I am very confused
I have a package, somewhere, that is turning off the automatic software update check
and I cannot for the life of me figure out which one it is -_-

It's working, and it's being actively deployed
but nothing in the receipts gives me any info and I have no idea where I'm making this change
