macmule: About to email JAMF, going to try disabling application usage collection temporarily.
As in, I want it enabled in the future.
macmule
adamcodega: huh.. is it get able?
adamcodega
I have some unsures, I'm unsure what error 502 means, and I'm unsure if I'm clearing the /Usage directory or not.
macmule: yep.
macmule
adamcodega: maybe re-run a quick add on it?
adamcodega: i'd also check the networking settings.. incase anything is awry
adamcodega
I disabled application usage on the JSS but my own computer is still submitting it, maybe it takes til the recurring check-in.
Note to log, you can check jamf.log in Console to confirm recurring check-in has occured.

macmule: The computer does everything else fine with communicating with the JSS>
macmule
adamcodega: might need a sudo jamf manage post removing app usage collection
adamcodega
macmule: Bingo!
adamcodega makes a mental note.
macmule
adamcodega: it's the same when changing restricted apps
adamcodega
Good point.

The MacE thread put me in the wrong mood cause it's such the wrong outlook in life. I'm also not a master of one field in my job but that doesn't mean I use it as an excuse to be uninformed or unwilling to learn.

macmule: Everyone here knows I'm more of an asker than a helper but I try and learn and listen.. not complain when someone tries to help but it's overly technical.
foigus: Yeah.. maybe that was the first sign.

adamcodega: Nestopia runs on a lower-class Mac (e.g. the MacBookPro4,1 in my entertainment center) with the NTSC filter applied.
e.g. someone figured out in peru today how to do reflection attacks of some sort

the stats last year around this time on that site are really interesting, that was about the height of the NTP amplification attacks
swy
makes me go "hope nobody does that to my work connections, as it would be my issue to address, and I don't really know where to begin to identify and mitigate that problem"
macmule
we had some stuff in France whacking out Mac NTP server in London.. so disabled the NTP service & blocked that range on the firewall.. seems ok now.. but was fun figuring it out
