marsbard: we can have such a problem with any name. The issue is to become the most popular event/organization that uses this name :)
Any patent authority will say that we are in different categories with that Beecons and they can register "BeeCon" keyword to our organization. I know "Alvex" company who sells jukeboxes, but we registered Alvex as a software product.
