anyone knows if there's a way to configure your routing to go through a specific gateway outside of your subnet?

pretty much configure the second "hop" on the client

let's say the default is

and I want to change to

PC => Def GW => GW2

I can ping GW2, but I can't assing it as the default route

because it's not on the same segment

change your subnet

so I have to go through that first gw (Def GW)

but I want to force to go out by using the GW2

broaden your subnet. 255.255.255.0 will keep with 192.168.1.x

the only way for that to work is if your subnet mask is 255.0.0.0

why don’t you alias the eth0

into a virtual nic

and assign 10.204 IP to it

then setup custom routes to shoot through eth0:0

rather eth0:1

the routing part worked.

I got the new default route showing as soon as I changed the mask and applied the new route

the problem is that they are using a proxy that I'm not familiar with

I think the do DNS catching and redirect you to the proxy

a proxy isnt configured that way

if I type the IP of an address I can bypass the proxy

but if I type the name on the browser it takes me to the proxy
