ishitatsuyuki: try to be more nice, maybe?

I've been thinking. It's pretty difficult to say "PM is dead", fork and the say "PM is alive".
      • It's just another fork, and PM is no more dead or alive because of it.
      • dktapps
and if various PocketMine Team members are actively supporting the project?
      • I think that supersedes "just another fork"
      • this has been discussed at great length.

dktapps, well "just another" is perhaps the wrong saying, because there is essentially only one other. It's just that I've found this "dead" talk a bit offensive and disrespectful to the Genisys project.
      • They've done a fantasic job keeping it going.
      • dktapps
        *We
      • how do you mean, disrespectful?
      • I've been working on Genisys for months, and I speak the truth as I see it.
      • gurun
        Hmm, truth about?
      • dktapps
        about Genisys
      • gurun
You must be refering to something I've not seen. I have no idea what you mean :-)
      • dktapps
you said I was being disrespectful towards Genisys
      • gurun
No, i was saying that this talk about PM being dead is a bit disrespectful towards all the hard work that gone into Genisys. I don't actually mean you, i mean the tweets going on actually.
      • dktapps
I don't understand what you mean
      • because Genisys is a... variant of PocketMine?
      • gurun
but being part of pocketmine team or not, means little to me in the land of forks tho. It's a new project, and some people came from the PM team, some from elsewhere.
      • dktapps
        hmm
      • gurun
To me, the only thing that matters is that someone decided to continue working on the code.
      • dktapps
        ah, now I understand you.
      • gurun
I love to bash the LBSG guys .. but in this arena, they (as a network) did more to keep MCPE servers going than most other networks ever done. Because of their "fork".
      • dktapps
        Steadfast you mean?
      • gurun
        yah
      • I actually don't care so much about who is coding what and when. I pretty much only cares about where the info for the protocol comes from, and that through the forks, it's still being shared. Makes all servers better.
      • And yeah, for that reason Mineplex will always have a special "bloodsuckers" kind of standing with me.
      • dktapps
did someone finally find out what software they use?
      • gurun
Oh, i don't care what they are running (it's their own stuff). I only care that they ask questions about the protocol, and never ever share. No giving back mentality there.
      • dktapps
        ah
      • well, noobs have an excuse for that
      • so it's either that or what you said :P
      • Intyre grabs more popcorn
      • dktapps finds water
      • gurun
But they are the reason why I'm not committing working code on 0.16 these days. Sharing the info if someone asks, but not the code until needed.
      • dktapps
        I completely understand that
      • dawn, your gigantic first 0.16 commit would be enough to put anyone off :D
      • gurun
Well, it also doesn't work more than just spawn.
      • dktapps
        what's broken?
      • gurun
well, i did a lot of fixes in the protocol (so the documentaion isn't exactly correct), but foremost, it's the stuff that I find out using the MINET client that I haven't put in.
      • dktapps
        ah
      • gurun
The stuff that doesn't show up in most disassemblies.
      • dktapps
        yeah
      • you have an advantage :D
      • keep hold of it :P
      • gurun
Nah .. you can use it just as well.
      • dktapps
;) yeah, I mean... leeches can only live as long as you allow them to
      • Intyre
the thing that stops me from having more info is that i only have a single .16 device :(
      • gurun
If i was able to, i would do a private branch for that and only share with the people on IRC.
      • Brandon15811__
        gurun: bitbucket?
      • gurun
Yah Intyre, for that purpose I have actually 3 androids.
      • dktapps
        damn
      • I have 1
      • and it's unreliable asf
      • gurun
Brandon15811__, I've been thinking about that yeah. I was on shogis repos for PM there.
      • Intyre steals a android from gurun
      • Yeah, i can send you one Intyre. It's only about €60-100 per each. It's utter crap, and I only use these tables for testing of MiNET.
      • But I have a high-end android samsung tablet that i use for the development tho.
      • dktapps
        :D
      • Intyre
maybe ill come and pick one up, then i can also go and see shoghi ^.^
      • gurun
Maybe I should send it as a late birthday present :-)
      • dktapps
meanwhile all my development is done on an old Xperia Z2 that randomly reboots many times a day
      • dktapps really should get a new device
      • gurun
Well dktapps, it's what I always tells developers; never be cheap about the stuff that feeds ya.
      • dktapps
        :D
      • financial troubles
      • times are hard
      • gurun
Buy the shit you need, pay license when you can, and always pay tax. Only after that should you also consider staying if school, if need be.

dktapps: if you want something cheap and decent, you could try the $50 fire tablet
      • gurun
        Yah, agree with brandon.
      • dktapps
        ^ I'll look into it
      • gurun
You have to think about this stuff differently. It's a development tool, not part of your regular entertainment device set.
      • dktapps
        that's true
      • Intyre
        but development is entertainment!
      • gurun
Only when you look at someone writing really crappy code :-)
      • Intyre looks in mirror
      • .. and we know that never happens to us! :-o
      • dktapps
well, where cracking MCPE open is concerned I've only been getting that entertainment for 3 months or so
      • Brandon15811__
      • dktapps
        ^ ty
      • wait, it's October already o.o
      • make that 4
      • Brandon15811__
yupp. It's time to wake up green day!
      • dktapps
        xD
      • gurun
yeah, exactly Brandon15811__, that's just the kind of shit I have. I have a big and a small one. Different brand, but obviously just branding.
      • dktapps
        Fires aren't actually too bad
      • especially not for that price
      • gurun
The difference is in the screens. Quality of the screen of the stuff i have .. totally sucks.
      • dktapps
hell yeah, that's why I don't like tabs much
      • gurun
        Both colors, brightness, "dragabillity/clickability".
      • dktapps
        yea ^
      • gurun
        Both these 3 things :-P
      • dktapps
and the resolution too, especially if you're used to a decent phone
      • gurun
Yah, they give a blury impression.
      • dktapps
        exactly
      • gurun
Are you going to do a new website and forum too?
      • for that new project?
      • dktapps
        probably yes
      • gurun
"work the brand" a bit. It's always good fun.
      • dktapps
