i'm coming to the conclusion that ubuntu doesn't care much about mcollective... known bugs aren't fixed and looks like not many people using it, going to give centos a try, hopefully its better
Volcane
the mco packages wont install puppet for you - its not a requirement
if you want to use the package or service agents you need to have puppet in your ruby path
what you have there is a working setup, just install the dependency

puppet and puppet-master were both allready installed, this is my test lab so i was going to have puppet-master and mcollective on it.
Volcane: what distro/OS do you use mcollective on?
Volcane
every node needs it
jamesd_
currently only 1 node is working... so they all have it
Volcane
then either it needs a restart or you have 2 rubies or something like that
i use centos but on ubuntu it should work prior to puppet 4
jamesd_
should of just started with centos anyway, we use a unbreakable linux which is based on rhel/centos anyway.
