hey everyone is somebody using mcollective with redis as connector?

Volcane one question again for my basic understanding with mcollective... to setup mcollective right and to communicate with the host I only need the middleware and some servers

so the ssl certificates and all that stuff is only needed to control puppet with mcollective right?

no, nothing to do with puppet really... the SSL certificates are optional security. I would say recommended for any serious deployment.

encrypting your traffic in transit

proving who you are, who they are etc

Volcane Question again... the standard plugins which already include in the puppetlabs repo which packages need to be installed on a server

the common package and the agent right?

or do i also need the client

package

pretty sure the install guide covers this

or just using the mcollecting module pl provides

client goes where you want to run commands from
