Current development focus is juno-3 https://launchpad.net/magnetodb/+milestone/juno-3

There is a list of bugs you can start with. MySQL driver is not in the scope now.

Are you interested exactly in MySQL backend?

No we don't use any orm now. And MySQL support is declared as possibly supported feature. Because of predictable scaling issues.
